Graffiti itu Vandal meh??

Why do we vandal, and how u define a word vandal??
Damaging or destroying property of others or the commons... as we know, speaking about vandalism.. 1 of the thing that would cross our mind could be Graffiti. This concerns me much cuz it is part of culture of mine. Graffiti ART is a drawing or inscription made on a wall or other surface, usually so as to be seen by the public.. In ancient times, graffiti was carved on walls with a sharp object, although sometimes chalk or coal were used.

Wall is like a canvas and spraycan is a pencil for those graffiti artist or
well known as Writer. Why we did it on public? There's no better place or wall to do and we had to find a abandoned wall to do it, for we can do it and people can see it..like the Super Sunday said "Free Exhibition" unlike rest of the artist that had their own space to do exhibit their stuff.
Look at fine art artist, they rent a place and do an exhibition and charge for the entry. Like every artist, Writer also do their art faithfully but still not been accepted. For certain people, graffiti art is like a trash, a junk that means nothing but spoilt or dirtying the city, the place, the town. In Malaysia, graffiti is not really recognized. Sometimes I even pronounce graffiti as VANDAL because of public influence.

As we can see, Fine art were more to potrait drawing, sceneries, flowers etc...for the
old skol graffiti maybe just a simple typo, wildstyle. Yet now, every artist in Malaysia tried
to do something new, they dont just only do typo on wall yet they do character potraits like how those fine art artists did, bubbles for background, digital graphic style. Lotsa style and u can find it very artistic that other medium dont raeli do. Im sure graffiti could abstract those youngster.
Not only do it on the wall, we tried to do it on canvases as well,
shoes, customize the spray cans wit art. We dont charge that high like how those RECOGNIZED
artwork bt well it depends still. I dont mean to condemn those RECOGNIZED artists.

Racer nids a track to race, dancer nids a stage to promote their dance, Artists got their right to exhibit their art. But we dont hav a legal/right wall to do our piece. How come aite? We are not like those peoples that simply use a spray can to spray a vulgar words on wall/signboard. As a matter of fact, we as writer dont even like this kind of thing. This is wat we so called destroying the property. We do beautify the ugly plain wall, like Banksy sed "Imagine the cities' wall is full of colorful, full of art, full of graffiti.."
Would it be more alive rather than souless city.?


Graffiti and Mural painting is actualy from the same root. Every artists' masterpieces in the world nid to be promote, wants to be exhibited. So either us..
For me, graffiti is like a culture of its own rather than vandal. I still got love for graffiti culture though, shout out loud and proud to local graffiti writer. Our scene is small and limited, Beefin' each other brings nothing for us. Aite, im crappin' too long, better stop now. Hopefully tis post brings no offence to nobody... Peace out.
